“It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.”
- Mother Teresa
Earlier this morning I checked my Facebook ( like I usually do ), and I see about ten different status updates saying " Day 13: I am thankful for.... ". I personally am not posting anything like that, but I think it's great that friends and family are reminding themselves about what they are thankful for and how great their lives really are. As I was scrolling through the newsfeed I noticed a blog that I follow, www.seniorologie.com, posted a link about Topic Tuesday. Today's topic is about how photographer's can give back. So I clicked on the link and I was introduced to a non-profit company, www.fotolanthropy.com, and I was in awe... I mean I'm sitting at my computer just balling my eyes out only after 5 minutes of looking through their website because I was so touched. You may be thinking why the heck is she crying? Well, let me explain how amazing Fotolanthropy is.
Fotolanthropy is a non-profit organization giving back to families and individuals who have suffered through hard times by telling their story through film and photography. It is so inspirational and moving that I felt that I needed to share. People are out there bringing joy to others through photography, and that makes me smile ( and cry.. but a good cry! ). I encourage you to go see for yourself! I dare you to NOT cry :)
SO... why am I telling you all of this?
After looking through their website, watching the films ( more than once ), and crying because I was so happy for these families who have turned a tough situation into something positive I would like to also give back to families and individuals who will truly cherish their pictures. It's not just about pictures.. it's about memories, memories that will last a lifetime. I too want to make a difference in someones life! I have been blessed with a talent, and I want to put it to good use. Thank you Seniorologie and Fotolanthropy for opening my eyes!
