Are you stumped on what to wear for your engagement session? Here are a few tips to help you choose that perfect outfit!
With 2017 creeping in I'm sure most of you, like me, have been reflecting on 2016 and dreaming of the new year to come! There have been many ups and downs (more ups!), lessons learned and a lot of growth in my business and personally.
When I was pregnant with Grant, I bought a chalkboard to do the fun baby bump updates. Fun fact, I only used it for that specific reason 5 times since I didn't get a bump until almost 28 weeks! ha! But after all of that fun stuff, I decided to change the chalkboard up about once a month with whatever season we were in.
On January 1, 2016 I had this bright idea of writing "the best is yet to come" at the top of the chalkboard and then filling out my goals beneath it. I also wrote some goals for Grant (who was 6 months at the time)... crawl, walk, have a 1st birthday party... you know.. #babygoals. ;) But for real, have you ever took the time to really think about your goals and then write them down?
Even though I'm sure Nate was the only one who saw, my goals were written down and out in the open. I feel a little crazy when I say this out loud but writing my desires out helped push me to accomplish them. To name a few, I had goals like attending church as a family, hire a professional to revamp my website and graduate from college. Once I actually accomplished one of them I thought, man! This feels awesome! Which one can I accomplish next? I'm a hardcore procrastinator and completing a project ahead of schedule is a big deal. I'm that girl who writes an essay better two hours before the paper is due. lol!
Fast forward to November and I see an Instagram post by Katelyn James about this thing called Powersheets. I check it out and automatically knew that this is what I needed to take my goals to the next level. I've had them for 2ish weeks now and it is so much more than I expected! I'm sure you're wondering what Powersheets are? They are a guide to intentional goal planning, helping you cultivate what matters most to YOU. The prep work gets you to dig down deep leading you to setting positive goals for the year. It's all about progress, not perfection.
2017 hasn't even started and I can't get enough!
On the next blog post I'll reveal my word of the year and a few of my goals. XOXO
You just booked your session, and one of the first thoughts that comes to mind is "Oh my gosh.. I don't know what I'm going to wear!" or in my case I usually say "I have NOTHING to wear" and in return Nate just rolls his eyes... haha. Well don't stress! I have a few tips for ya.
First of all, have you heard of Pinterest?? I'm sure you have.. but if you haven't - it. is. ADDICTING. So many great ideas, crafts, and of course clothes are on that site! I created a board not too long ago called " Clients - What to Wear " I have pinned everything from maternity to kids to men's fashion. You can see what colors go together or even how a scarf can change the entire look! The possibilities are endless on Pinterest... Here is a link to my Pinterest board. Follow me! Just know that I do pin... probably too much.. :) http://pinterest.com/knicotre/clients-what-to-wear/
*One little tip - If you plan on wearing jeans.. wear dark jeans!
Hope this post gave you a little bit of inspiration! Until next time...
